Italy Illegally Bans CBD

Despite thousands of retailers, Italy is about to criminalize hemp CBD products. All the hemp associations there are up in arms, all except one: EIHA. With the top two officers Italian and their office in Rome, one would think the nation putting its members out of business illegally would elicit at least a press release, but then one would be wrong.

I suspect that their silence is related to their members’ Novel Food applications in the EU, banning all competing products would be the first step. That’s why its members will pay them millions in Novel Food certification fees, in part for this service.

Knowing the players involved and the million of Euros on the table for them, it was obvious this Novel Food issue would be a fiasco. And it is.
