Newsletter Ceases

The The Richard Rose Report…This Week newsletter, a free weekly service that replaced CannaSearch Daily, has ceased for now.

It featured dozens of posts on the latest news, studies, analysis, context, history, products, and policy on all aspects of hemp (low-THC Cannabis), including seed, fiber, and phytocannabinoids, delivered direct by email.

MailChimp has a bug that prevents the RSS from being rendered as the newsletter, it took weeks but I finally fixed it before I could start the newsletter last year then it reappeared last week.

I took it as a sign from God.

The fix is a hassle, I can’t remember how I did it, and MailChimp costs $150 a month unless I archived everyone for later use, so I did.

Besides not charging anyone a penny, I do all this for fun and it is getting increasingly less fun over the years, while getting increasingly more expensive; Social Security has not kept pace with the website/newsletter costs.

Currently, real hemp has turned into a bad joke and no one serious could GAF about it, it appears. The ones for better alternatives with proven successes get ignored while grifters receive lifetime achievement awards, and then people wonder why acres are down 95% in the U.S.

Meanwhile, I built a music recording workstation and am re-inspired to do what I’ve done starting 60 years ago, using modern tools like Reaper and Reason to record guitar, which I’ve played for 62 years now.

In the pipeline are 40 “SongStories” complete with video to tell the tale; six are on hemp.

“Fun” for me got redefined, “Hemp Schmemp.”

The Richard Rose Report” (therichardrosereport.com) and “Hemp Food Association” (the-hfa.org) websites are not going anywhere, MailChimp can’t screw those up.
