Hemp Cuts Its Nose to Spite its Face… Again

It was unfortunate that the U.S. hemp industry had to crash so bad, 95% loss of acres in 5 years and many bankruptcies, even suicide. The advantage of Colorado being a big player in those early years was that there would be more access to qualified executives from the large natural products industry located there, such as Richard Rose.

Alas, it was not to be: hiring the most aggressive instead of the most competent returned lawsuits, thefts, and defunct companies. Due Diligence was dead. Letting the ignorant educate us and taking advice from a goat-herder and a pot lawyer both new to hemp had the predictable result.

No doubt the two-decades-long blacklist of me and HIA co-founder/CBD pioneer Chris Boucher by HIA and its sycophants had an impact, the only consulting clients I had were those who already knew me and my work for decades.

I pioneered hemp’s first billion-dollar industry segment, food, and Chris pioneered the CBD industry starting 14 years ago. Two of hemp’s most-prolific entrepreneurs were kept from you for purely competitive reasons.

Ironically, those aggressively-marketed noobs haven’t had, couldn’t have had, the impact that four decades of doing the same work, making and selling unique foods, can bring to hemp. How else could hemp foods have become her first billion-dollar segment in just a few decades?
