Founding Hemp Food Association member (1998) Hempzels® is helping bakers in Afghanistan improve the nutrition of their bread with hemp protein powder (presscake) made in Pennsylvania.
Much like on the hemp fiber side where the hurd was lost or discarded until a commercial use for it was found (paper) around 1919, until about 20 years ago hempseed oil producers paid pig farmers to haul away hemp protein powder before it spoiled.
