First time using CBD (bad marijuana experience)

So I got a cbd vape style pen from a friend last night. I am going to try it tonight. I just want to know what should I expect. Do I need to hold the vapor in? Is there an actual head change and how many hits would I take?

I used to smoke weed every damn day for about 3-4 years. I ended up stopping and every time since that I’ve tried i have like psychotic episodes of extreme paranoia. I will avoid that at any cost. Is this even possible on cbd?
